Spring Into Home Safety

Now that Spring has Sprung (no matter what the thermometer says!), it’s time to turn our attention to some safety procedures that are necessary this time of year.

Since we’ve already ‘sprung ahead’ to daylight savings time, be sure to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. After our hibernating these past six weeks or so because of snowstorm after snowstorm, be sure to check your exterior dryer vent and any exhaust chimneys for buildup and clean out as necessary.

Also, with the onset of Spring Cleaning season, it’s a perfect time to check on many aspects of your to ensure its safety for you and your family, especially those with children or elderly living in the home. Checking and changing the filters of your overworked home heating system, and making sure your fire extinguishers are up to snuff are just a few of the important components of a comprehensive home safety check.

Attached, you will find an extensive Home Safety Checklist for your use. Feel free to share it with anyone you feel may benefit from it as well. Here at MAC Builders, we want to make sure your home is a safe and happy place to live.
